Romeo Akbar Walter Movie Reviews

Romeo-Akbar-Walter, three names of the same man played by John Abraham.

The movie starts with the close up badly bruised scene of John Abraham who was transported to Karachi as an India spy. The movie is set around the era of 1971 when the relationship between India, Pakistan and East Pakistan (currently Bangladesh) were tensed. The script is written by Robbie Grewal and he wonderfully portrayed each character of the movie. The film is a salute to the unnamed martyrs who risk their lives to protect our country.

Romeo Ali who is a bank cashier and a part-time theater artist is selected for a confidential mission of RAW by the chief Srikant Rai (Jackie Shroff). Things go as planned until Akabar Malik (John’s second character) is blown off by an ISI agent.

The director’s lazy storytelling way and chaos created by introducing too many characters cause the movie left its pace. Jackie Shroff perfectly justifies his role and Mouni Roy works were below average. The songs are not memorable and just put some extra min to the movie. The makers should have paid attention to the sloppy editing to maintain its pace.
