Ashwin Saravanan’s, directed the thriller Game Over, a Telugu film dubbed in Hindi. The movie starts with a murder that completely changes the life of a young girl Amrita’s (Sanchana Natrajan). In this movie, the killer is on the losing side. The screenplay of the film is such that you literally feel the presence of the invisible killer which is incredible. The film makes you anticipate as to what going to happen next. But the story is all about surviving the killer. Director is very much successful in making layers in the story and Sapna (Taapsee Pannu) gives us the perfect picture of life but there is a feeling that something is going to happen. However, the story doesn’t follow the predicted path. Gradually, the movie unlayered the life of Sapna. Both Taapsee Pannu and Vinodhini Vaidyanathan as Kalamma played their role beautifully and compliment each other roles. The downside of the movie is the repetition of the events like in any other game and it also happens earlier in Hollywood -from Groundhog Day to Run Lola Run. But I won’t give you more details about the movie as it may kill the surprise but this is a unique narrative technique which is well-deserved applause. One must appreciate the fact that how young south Indian Filmmakers amalgamate the western Concepts with the Indian ones. Overall film is a worth watch.
